Face massage - something for everyone

Massage techniques have been with us for thousands of years - it is said that for approximately 5000 years! Techniques of course changed with growing knowledge of human's body, but most of them are still similar to what has been practiced in ancient the Middle and Far East. Curious about a facial massage? I will try to convince you that there is more to it than meets the eye!

Benefits

A facial massage has a vast range of benefits of all kinds: physical, physiological and psychological. The good thing is that you can achieve most of them when doing the massage yourself. If you want to go a step further and make the most of it you should book a massage with a qualified therapist.

Here are some of the benefits that you should see after the first at-home face massage:

  • your skin will look fresher and more relaxed
  • some of the fine lines might become shallower and less noticeable
  • the skin's texture might become softer
  • your complexion might look a little more even
  • toxins and waste products will be removed faster from the skin
  • circulation will improve - more oxygen and nutrients will be delivered to your skin cells
  • it will be stimulating and soothing at the same time for your nerves
  • you will become relaxed and calmer
  • by taking the time for yourself you are creating a state of well-being and peace
  • if you believe in energy - massage can help removing any energy blockages

Imagine what you can gain if you are determined and consistent with it!

Products and tools

You need a massage medium, that is facial oil or serum and your hands or specially designed facial roller. I would not recommend that you buy a fancy face roller at the very beginning - there are so many options on the market! What is really important is the techniques - learn that first, then progress to buying more and more face massage tools :)

This was one of the reasons I created ZEA Skin Rescue Kit - you get a gorgeous white jade face roller (double-ended for better massage experience), Superfruit Serum - Antioxidant Boost which you should use as a massage medium, and Rose Face Cream - Pink Fluff to give your skin that extra layer of hydration and protection.

Now is the perfect time to start and take on a facial massage - during autumn and winter our skin is put through a lot! With great skincare products and a little bit more attention the skin will not suffer as much. If you have dry or combination skin you really know what I am talking about! I recommend the ZEA Skin Rescue Kit to everyone, regardless of their skin type, but it will be the most beneficial for anyone with dry, dehydrated, dull, sallow and mature skin that might need a little boost during colder and harsh weather.

You can read more about Superfruit Serum here and about Rose Face Cream here.
